Seva Food Bank has been one of my greatest learning experiences in my career so far. I recently completed my Social Service Worker internship at Seva, where I was able to take on large responsibilities such as intake and assessment. Every day at Seva becomes a better experience and this is all thanks to the staff, volunteers and clients. You will meet great people with incredible stories that open your eyes to a new world and make you realize how fortunate you are.  Being at Seva really makes you feel that you are making a difference in the community. After my placement finished, I was honoured with the privilege of obtaining a summer job with Seva as a Newcomer Settlement Coordinator.  The amazing staff and clients have helped me grow into my profession as a Social Worker. I highly recommend Seva as a place to complete your internship.” - Hema

“I had the pleasure of completing my placement at Seva Food Bank from January 2016 – April 2016, and it was such a positive eye-opening experience. The wonderful staff and volunteers at Seva welcomed me with open arms into their community. I am currently a second-year student working towards my Social Service Worker Diploma. I was able to learn plenty of things that helped me grow in my profession as well as a person. Once my placement ended, I ended up staying as a volunteer and eventually got hired as a summer student where I coordinate services for Seniors. The experience I got at Seva Food Bank is something I am very grateful for and I plan to be a part of this organization for as long as I can, Seva will always have a place in my heart.” - Karen
