2010 Guru Nanak Food Drive Brings In 2000 Lbs Of Food

Every year on Guru Nanak’s Gurpurab, Sikhs from across the GTA donate food for the needy through local food banks. This year a total of 12,053 lbs of food was collected from 18 Gurdwaras across the GTA during the food drive that was held from November 5th to 26th. This was the 9th annual Guru Nanak food drive coordinated by the Guru Gobind Singh Children’s Foundation and was the biggest collection so far. Food from the Gurdwaras in Mississauga was given to the new Seva Food Bank (2,074 lbs) and the collection from all other Gurdwaras to the Daily Bread Food Bank (9,979 lbs).

Thank you to GGSCF for your help with the food drive!
